Configuration Audit

Idealogic’s Glossary

Configuration audit is a process that endeavors to confirm that configuration items and their interconnectivity are correct and accurate to the technical documentation and the requirements. It is always important that the system has been configured to do what it is required to do and the primary goal of configuration audit is to ensure that every one of the configurations in the system has been configured to work in the right way and if it is not working as supposed to, then information is gathered to help fix it.

Periodic configuration scans are vital in establishing security threats that might be caused by improper configurations, thus improving the current state of the software. These configurations are also compared to the standard company policies and standards during the assessment.
