COTS

COTS commonly known as Commercial-Off-The-Shelf are goods and services that are purchased and implemented while they are off-the-shelf goods rather than being developed uniquely for use by the client. In other words, it is quite the antithesis of being able to obtain a bespoke solution from third-party suppliers.

COTS includes ERP systems and CRM that are usually built to fit the standard market concept. COTS software has been recognized due to it efficiency and effectiveness where a ready-made program is required. Another benefit arising from such a course of action is that costs are easily and systematically calculated in anticipation of market average rates of similar products.
