Configuration

Idealogic’s Glossary

Configuration in context of computer system is the process linking together of the individual part, positioning them in the right form. In software, the changes referred to as configurations are generally made automatically or via certain parameters, for instance, speed of the processor, stability of the motherboard, size of the storage device/multiple storage devices, graphics, etc.

Configurations can be done manually or by the system; options that include minimum configurations for general and maximum configurations for enhanced operations are available. There also may be used specific settings at a case-by-case basis if necessary to optimize the system for definite situations.
