Alignment Points

Idealogic’s Glossary

Alignment points are a key design principle focused on the positioning of text and graphics on a page. Poor alignment can make a design appear unfinished and chaotic, while proper alignment brings clarity and balance, creating a polished and professional look.

Alignment is one of the essential principles of graphic design. By aligning elements, designers can effectively organize various components within a composition, providing a clear structure and achieving visual harmony.

There are four types of alignment in design: left, right, center, and justified. Good alignment points often include elements like the corner of a building, a column, or the intersection of two architectural grid lines.
